Texture gives a space its character.
Our material approach balances tactile surfaces, natural variation, refined colour and precise detailing to create interiors with depth, warmth and permanence.
Chosen for more than appearance.
Materials influence how a space feels, how it performs and how it ages. We consider visual harmony alongside practical requirements such as application, durability, maintenance and the relationship between adjoining finishes. Final specifications are developed individually for each project according to the space, intended use, design direction and available supplier options.
Natural movement. Quiet permanence.
Stone introduces depth through variation, veining and tonal movement. Depending on the application, marble, natural stone, porcelain and stone-effect surfaces can be used to create anything from subtle continuity to a defined architectural feature.
Warmth through natural grain.
Timber and veneer bring warmth, rhythm and visual structure to an interior. Grain direction, tone and finish can dramatically change the character of bespoke joinery, cabinetry, wall treatments and flooring.
Softness balances architecture.
Textiles bring comfort and softness to harder architectural surfaces. Upholstery, drapery and tactile finishes can soften acoustics, introduce tonal depth and create a more composed relationship between furniture and architecture.
The background shapes the atmosphere.
Walls influence the perception of every other element in the room. Colour, plaster texture, wallpaper, moulding and decorative ornamentation can remain deliberately quiet or become a defining architectural feature.
The surface beneath the entire composition.
Flooring establishes continuity, scale and movement throughout a space. Tile format, joint alignment, pattern, tone and transitions between materials should be considered early, not treated as an afterthought.
What looks beautiful must also make sense.
Application
Materials are considered according to where and how they will be used.
Durability
The expected level of use helps determine the appropriate surface and finish.
Maintenance
Practical care requirements matter as much as the first visual impression.
Harmony
Every material is considered alongside the finishes that meet and surround it.
Our signature language, not a restriction.
Ivory, champagne, soft blush, warm stone, brushed gold and deep black reflect the House of Maguie visual identity. They are not a fixed formula for every interior. Each project develops its own palette according to the architecture, purpose and personality of the space.
Material images on this page illustrate our design language and material categories. Final products, colours, finishes and specifications are selected individually for each project and remain subject to technical suitability, supplier availability, samples and client approval.
Materials set the tone.
Craftsmanship completes it.
